Our longtime and talented architectural client Sprotte+Watson was modernizing an Irvine Elementary School. They asked us for concepts to illustrate flight/soaring/achievement (as related to the school’s mascot – the bald eagle) for several large scale interior walls. We came up with the theme of “Imagineers” that would showcase legendary people from all walks of life with inspiring quotes. Our intention was to inspire the young students to think about what they could accomplish in their lifetimes. We asked Tracy Sabin to illustrate Amelia Earhart with a specific color palette and flat shapes, with a dynamic and arresting look. In the end, the school decided on a different concept (in progress), but we still love this graphic.
