To play off Springbrook Elementary’s seal mascot, we proposed the overall mural theme of Ocean Ecosystems, based on marine creatures and plants. One of the most fun aspects of the project was the Discovery + Research phase, where we explored various local ecosystems that would provide a broad spectrum of ocean environments. With our carefully vetted lists of flora and fauna for Tides, Coral Reefs, Pacific Ocean and Lagoons, we collaborated with talented illustrator Tyler Gross to create murals intended to engage, educate, and delight.
